Celine is founded by Céline and Richard Vapiana as a children’s shoe customization store in 1945 in Paris. Their original logo is a red elephant that created by cartoonist Raymond Peynet. Later in 1960, Celine repositions itself as a women ready-to-wear clothing brand that specializes in sportswear and functional garment. After the transition, the brand decided to replaced the logo as Blazon Chaine which made the brand more distinguishable. Celine is acquired by LVMH in 1996 as a part of the world most successful luxury group.
