DUNK has energized basketball culture since 1985. The upper took cues from the Air Jordan I and the Nike Terminator which also designed by Peter Moore in 1980. During the summer of 1985, Nike created College Colors program, Be True To Your School, by using Dunk as the signature model that bring the bold color scheme to basketball shoes design. The titular shade dresses the Swoosh as well as the overlays adjacent, while white neutrals round out the two-toned look along the base and midsole. Elsewhere, the rest of the construction — i.e. the laces, branding, and tread — follow in the green’s example, matching near exactly despite the change in material.
