DUNK has energized basketball culture since 1985. The upper took cues from the Air Jordan I and the Nike Terminator which also designed by Peter Moore in 1980. During the summer of 1985, Nike created College Colors program, Be True To Your School, by using Dunk as the signature model that bring the bold color scheme to basketball shoes design. Smoke grey features grey and black leather upper that sits on a vintage beige midsole. It was added black as the final touch on heel tab and outsole.
