AIR MAX 1 was designed by Tinker Hatfield, alongside with Mark Parker in 1987. The model was inspired by the glass wall of Centre Georges-Pompidou which the design of visible air unit derived from. It provides a great cushioning and stability that changed the runner experience entirely. The Kasina x Nike Air Max 1 will be releasing in two colorways inspired by sentiments of Won-Ang ducks. They come constructed in a mix of premium leather, suede, and pony hair materials. Notable features includes a flower on the mini Swoosh lateral toe, Kasina branding on the tongue tags and wooden lace dubraes atop an icy translucent outsole. In Korean culture, mandarin ducks carved from wood, known as kireogi, are paired together and often given as marriage gifts because it is believed that, unlike other types of ducks, they mate for life, and that if one of the pair dies, the other will mourn. Kasina uses kireogi and marriage as a way to celebrate their anniversary and the theme of “better together.”
